Hey folks, My apologies for the temporary blip in site appearance, I was hacked (don’t they have anything better to do??) and it’s taken a while to get things back to some kind of order as I have been so busy. The site is still under maintenance as all content images I uploaded via the blog/news section etc have been deleted – so for now, all those posts will remain text only until I can spare the time to add images back in :/
Enjoying some time from commissioned work to do some creative personal pieces at the moment – this idea came to me as I drifted off to sleep the other night! Mostly Cinema 4D, although the terrain was sculpted and textured in ZBrush utilising GoZ, which is truly going to liberate my workflow now! Photoshop for minor colour tweaks and some post fx. Adam 🙂
This illustration depicts the concept of a ‘3d’ iPad. Utilising technology that already exists, the user interacts with the interface without 3D glasses, and has the sense that iPad screen has depth beyond its physical form. I came up with the idea that it would have desktop themes, and this depicts a water theme, complete with depth and surface ripple animation when an icon is selected!
I am in the process of updating all my galleries to the Word Press ones within my site, but in the meantime, I have updated the existing ones with new work – specifically; Editorial and Product/Conceptual. This is a recent set of images for Max PC magazine depicting the mobile Android OS robot as a 3D character in various guises related to popular Android apps! click image for larger version!
It’s been a while since I upgraded/modified my website, and now I have finally had some time to get it started. For now the galleries will remain as with my previous site style until I can migrate everything in this new site structure. For now there will be gaps, things missing and a few dead links, so please be patient!
Just going through some of my extensive back catalogue of work and picking out a few examples to highlight! – this from 2008, commissioned by 3DWorld Magazine to accompany an editorial on ‘Mac Myths / debunking OSX)
It’s not always about slick Apple concepts, sometimes I get to create rendered concepts of fine whisky bottles and packages! – in this case, the bottle was modeled from engineering schematics and will in fact be used as box art.
I’ve been working on CG for the prequel section, as well as some character animation for the Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds Live Show for the last few months, and since the show starts its run this month (Nov) the ad which has some of my CG from the start is beginning to air in the UK.
The designers from BBC Arabic requested some training at the Maxon UK offices in Bedfordshire, and Maxon asked me to be the tutor. We focused on materials, shaders, lighting and rendering. We didn’t have very much time to prepare, but with a combination of specific queries for the BBC team, some of their scene files as well as mine for examples, we had a constructive 2 day session, despite the sudden heatwave! Maxon and I are considering doing some masterclasses where I dissect a few of my key images/scenes, and take a group through the processes involved in their creation, if you are interested in this, please drop me a line!
